Killarney 4th of July Celebrations
Killarney will be transformed into all things American as preparations are at full tilt to celebrate the annual 4th of July festival which runs from 7 am to 12 midnight. The festival, now in its 4th year is shaping up to be bigger, better and more colourful than ever before with an unforgettable parade through the streets of the town, BBQ, live street music, entertainment, street performances and much much more. The festival itself aims to celebrate all that is great about the US and to remember the years of legacy between the United States and Ireland.
The festival will commence on Tuesday July 4th at 7am with a “Dawn Chorus” of the Star – Spangled Banner – performed by The Shire Male Choir.
Down town Killarney will then be transformed into Main Street USA and the town will come alive with street entertainment throughout the day. Watch out for The Wild West Troupe as they roam the town shooting up the place looking for an easy target or Bank to raid. Brass bands and can- can girls will perform on the streets and if you are feeling peckish there will be a celebration charity BBQ at 4pm in The Market Cross Area and is in aid of Kerry Cancer Support Group.
5pm Gleneagle pipe band on Main St.
