Your journey to conquer an Cruach Mhór begins from Cronin’s Yard, where parking is available. A cobbled path will meet you after you walk through the first two gates and follow the neighbouring stream ahead. Take the next left before you meet the bridge and continue following your friendly stream; you will then notice a left turn with a line of rocks to follow up the Lough.

The ascent of the Cruach Mhór summit begins from the western side of Locha Chaca, from here you will take on the mountain ridges and reach what is known as ‘The Big Gun’!  The summit is also marked with a grotto and brass Virgin Mary statue.

Caution must be taken in extreme weather conditions as the ridges become increasingly dangerous.
