A glacial mountain pass between the McGillycuddy Reeks and the Purple Mountain. The Gap of Dunloe shares in some of the most beautiful and inspiring scenery to be found in the world, with a rugged landscape and series of glacial lakes connected by a single stream known as a ‘pater noster’. It meanders for approx. 12km on a road that is shared by some traditional jaunting cars (horse and buggy) and cyclists.
Words really cannot capture the ‘awe’ and beauty of this area – you must experience it for yourself!
This is the iconic Killarney day tour! The tour involves a boat ride from Ross Castle through the magnificent Lakes of Killarney, arriving at Lord Brandon’s Cottage. From here you will begin the journey to the top of the Gap and down the other side, arriving to Kate Kearney’s Cottage.
Prepare yourself to be amazed!
