Lakeshore River Walk to Ross

Buggy/wheelchair friendly: Yes
Surface types: Tarred Road
Points of interest: Deenagh Lodge, Ross Castle
A very enjoyable stroll through Ireland’s oldest National Park. Parking is available on Port Road or adjacent to the Cathedral.
The very quaint Deenagh Lodge is there to greet you at the entrance gate to the park and taking a left turn you will follow the river walk guiding your steps. Dogs especially love this walk as they can swim alongside you en route!
The river visibly comes to an end while the road continues out around the lakes where eventually the 15th Century Ross Castle becomes clear across the lakeshore. Continue on this road to bring you down to Ross Island.
A perfect family walk or leisurely stroll!
