Meeting of the Waters
The Meeting of the Waters is most definitely one of the best hidden gems in Killarney! As the name suggests, this is the point where all of Killarney’s three glorious lakes merge together; the upper lake, Muckross Lake (the middle lake) and Lough Leane (the lower lake). The area is so beautiful, echoing peace and tranquillity in a world of its own.
You can reach this point either by foot or bicycle. If you wish to park at Muckross House, you will follow a 5km trail that leads directly to Dinis Cottage. Alternatively, you can follow the road beyond Torc for 1km where Dinis Cottage is sign posted, park here and it is a 15 minute walk. To get to the Meeting of the Waters, take the path leading behind Dinis Cottage, which emerges from the trees as a doorway to this wonderful view.
