Activities for friends
Travelling with a group of friends often means compromise – half the group may be adventure seekers whilst the other half are in search of more relaxing pursuits. The Good News …… Killarney has something for both sets of friends.
Let the thrill seekers scale the highest mountain, Paddle Board the lakes or abseil down the Gap of Dunloe whilst the others chill out at Killarney House & Gardens with a sumptuous picnic, take an outdoor Yoga session by the lakes or a chilled jaunt through the park with our legendary Jaunting Cars.
The best day out in Killarney is the Gap of Dunloe trip, it involves bus, horses and boats and is the best way to experience the wonders of the National Park. Order a picnic from your hotel, or stop by one of the many lovely deli’s for your day’s refreshments. For the relaxed approach take the bus to the Kate Kearney’s Cottage, choose to horse ride or take a trap through the Gap to Lord Brandon’s cottage. From here you will meet the boats that will bring you down the lakes to Ross Castle. Once here the bus will meet you to bring you back to town. Or if you feel more energetic, hire a bike and do the trip in reverse meeting the boats in the morning and cycling through the Gap in the afternoon. Either option will work up an appetite to sample the wonderful fare of Killarney’s many restaurants.
As we find our feet in this new phase we can still do so much safely and with fun and there really is no excuse not to get together and catch up!
