Killarney Chamber of Tourism and Commerce is invested in activities that benefit all local people and communities. In partnership with our TidyTowns Committee, we strive to cultivate a vibrant town that’s an even better place to live, work, and visit. Our collaboration bolsters initiatives for enhancement projects, environmental sustainability and community engagement.
One of our joint efforts is organising community clean-up events on an on-going basis. Our member businesses volunteer their time to remove litter and waste from public spaces. We also support enhancement projects such as planting flowers and trees, and creating murals that celebrate our local culture and heritage. Additionally, we support environmental sustainability activities that promote responsible waste management and energy conservation.
Replicating Success: Working Towards Another National TidyTowns Award!
In 2011, Killarney won first place in the national TidyTowns award. There’s no doubt that there’s friendly competition in Kerry with four of our towns winning the national award in the past 25 years! In Killarney, we’re working with our local businesses to repeat the success of 2011!
We believe that our partnership with TidyTowns is a reflection of our commitment to the local community and our desire to contribute to activities that benefit everyone.
